Bullying Information

Kids

Chestnut Ridge Middle School is dedicated to provide students with a safe and productive environment. Therefore, we work hard as a community to stop bullying. By working together we can help our children.

“Love is louder than bullying” means that the right types of caring, connection, and support can overpower the negative influences that make our children feel disconnected, different or hopeless. Having an open discussion with children can help them feel like they have a safe place to talk about bullying.

Here are conversation starters you may want to use as a guide for discussion with your child:

  • What does bullying mean to you? (Make sure they know that it can sometimes be subtle negative comments.)
  • Have you ever felt bullied? What did you do in that situation?
  • What can you do to help prevent bullying and support yourself and other students who may feel bullied?
  • Do you know who to go to if you are ever feeling bullied or know someone else who is a victim of bullying?
