Greetings Chestnut Ridge Middle School Families,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! It is both an honor and a great responsibility to serve as the new principal of Chestnut Ridge Middle School. With almost two decades in education—five of those years here in East Ramapo—I have witnessed the power of high expectations, meaningful relationships, and a shared vision for student success. I am here to build, to listen, and to lead—in partnership with you.

From my very first visit, it was clear that Chestnut Ridge is more than a school—it’s a vibrant community grounded in Cougar pride, care, and possibility. I’m excited to join a team of passionate educators and supportive families who are deeply committed to every scholar’s growth.

This year, we are committed to helping every scholar #RiseWithPride—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our school-wide focus is on high-impact instruction, rooted in literacy and equity. Scholars will engage in learning that is rigorous, relevant, and responsive across all subject areas. Whether in math, science, social studies, ELA, the arts, or physical education, we will challenge students to read closely, write clearly, speak confidently, and think critically.

We believe every scholar can achieve greatness—and we intentionally call them scholars to reflect that belief. This shift in language signals our commitment to developing confident communicators, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, compassionate citizens, and culturally competent collaborators—the very qualities that define our East Ramapo Portrait of a Graduate.

We are equally committed to cultivating a restorative and inclusive school culture—one where scholars feel safe, seen, and supported. At Chestnut Ridge, we lead with empathy, build authentic relationships, and foster a sense of belonging for all.
